About Me
Who am I? I am not an expert on anything. I just like to share. I am good at shopping, writing, reading and sleeping.
My Fashion Philosophy: "A girl can never have too many hats, gloves or shoes." (I got that from Patsy on Ab Fab. I would personally change hats to bags, and gloves to jeans, though I do have a tendency to lose gloves by the bucketful and thus can never have too many.)
Favorite Designer: Well, Marc by Marc Jacobs has been a standby for a long time. I also like Lauren Moffatt, WInk, Theory, Vanessa Bruno, and a hundred others. If I had the means, I would buy lots of Miu Miu, Mayle, Prada, Chanel, Balenciaga and Behnaz Sarapfour. I would say I like girly clothes with an edge.
Favorite Shop: These change all the time. I like Barney's Co-Op, because you don't get a bad attitude there, and it is pretty well edited. I like a lot of the small boutiques in my New York neighborhood, including Meg and Min-k. TG-170 is reliable. Annelore has the most beautiful clothes. I go there to dream. I love to find a good vintage or outlet deal too. There is a beautiful vintage store called La Reina on Ave C, but the service tends towards the mean, so even though I love the clothes, I avoid it. Life's too short. Of the chains, I like J. Crew best for basics. The Gap is my favorite underwear place. My dream shop is Jeffrey. It is magical there.
Least Favorite Shop: My idea of purgatory is Bloomingdale's on 61st street. And hell is Macy's. Or the Scoop on Broadway.
Favorite Beauty Product: That would have to be my Chanel Glossimer lip glosses. Oh and Murad Pomegranate Lip Balm. And Karin Herzog Vita-Kombi I moisturizer. I am a product junkie.
Fragrance: Spring Flowers by Creed. I have been wearing it for 6 years! I briefly cheated with Prada, but RC couldn't stand it. I love perfume! It is always so well packaged. You can't be disappointed, even if you dislike the scent.
Embarrassing Fashion-related Fact- My closet is full of amazing heels that I have spent a fortune on- and never wear! I wish I was one of those girls who could traipse all over town in four inch Manolos, but, for now, they live in the back of my closet. Sometimes I take them out and stroke them. Just so they don't feel neglected.
Favorite Magazine- Vogue. Seriously. Especially Jeffrey Steingarten, the food writer. Who knew the fashion bible had a great gourmand? I also love Andre Leon Talley. I have the best story about him. Once I was on a Hudson Line Metro North train. Who should sweep in, but Mr Talley. He was wearing a velour track suit that said "Andre" in rhinestones across the back. I wanted to get up and kiss him.
